Our accommodation is a charming rural farmhouse, expertly restored, where you can still breathe the atmosphere of a bygone era.
The structure of the house has not been altered and the bathrooms of the rooms have been created from existing spaces. In addition, there is a lovely breakfast room and plenty of outdoor space.
The house is located on the edge of a majestic chestnut grove, with centuries-old trees that have withstood the weather and diseases over the centuries. It is surrounded by approximately 800 meters from the provincial road and is 2 kilometers away from the town of Castel d'Aiano.
We offer a family welcome and the possibility to feel at home. This is what the splendid chestnut plain offers, where tranquility, silence, and nature are the main features. In a charming, fully restored 19th-century rural farmhouse, we have 5 rooms, all with private bathrooms, TV, and independent heating, for a total of 11 beds. The restaurant service offers a fixed menu only for guests and only by reservation.
The geographical location of our structure makes it an ideal stopover on journeys to and from Tuscany, Rome, and Southern Italy. It is also a special place to relax in contact with nature and appreciate colors, scents, and sounds far from the chaos of the city.
Our delightful breakfast consists of high-quality delicacies and delicious sweets lovingly prepared by our hostess. You can enjoy fresh yogurt, ricotta, butter, and locally produced cheeses from the area's dairies. Additionally, we offer a variety of seasonal fruits, fresh eggs from happy hens, and locally sourced cured meats. You will never miss out on delightful freshly baked donuts, tarts, and cookies, which change from time to time to surprise you with new flavors.
In the dishes of our Apennine cuisine, you will be able to relive the scents and flavors of ancient celebrations.
Our residence is located in the heart of a territory characterized by agricultural excellences. From mountain potatoes to chestnuts and chestnuts, with all their variations, these products represent the core of our agricultural activities. In addition, you can taste prestigious dairy products such as mountain Parmigiano Reggiano and flours made from ancient types of wheat. There are also organic breeding of Mora Romagnola pigs, whose meat is skillfully processed, and the production of DOC wines such as Pignoletto from the Bolognese Hills. In the Modena area, you can also witness the making and aging of balsamic vinegar.
We offer the possibility to organize small guided tours, during which you can observe and discover the magical production processes of PDO products such as Parmigiano Reggiano and Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, from raw material to finished product.
In the numerous restaurants in the area, you will have the opportunity to taste all the specialties of Bolognese/Modenese cuisine: tortellini, tortelloni, tagliatelle, gnocchi, passatelli, grilled meats, and suckling pig. Traditional desserts such as zuppa inglese, rice cake, and puddings will not be missing either.

Located at an altitude of 800 meters on the Apennine watershed between the Reno and Panaro rivers, we present ourselves as the ideal destination to discover charming villages, trails, and natural treasures that are still relatively unknown. Among these, you can visit the fascinating Labante Caves, admiring its waters that have petrified time, the ancient Roffeno Parish, the picturesque village of Lamari, and the imposing Rocchetta Mattei Castle. Don't forget to explore the Montovolo area, known as "the sacred mountain," which offers breathtaking views. Moreover, our strategic location will allow you to easily visit art cities such as Modena, Parma, Ferrara, Ravenna, Florence, and Bologna, all reachable by car in just 60-90 minutes.
