Villa Trigona

Country House in Piazza Armerina in the countryside

Villa Trigona is an ancient noble villa still belonging to the noble Trigona family, an illustrious family whose history is intertwined with that of Sicily and Piazza Armerina. Important evidence of the role of this family is the monumental Cathedral founded in the 1600s by Marco Trigona and the splendid Trigona Palace, built of terracotta bricks and local sandstone. It belonged to the most important noble family in Sicily and the family crest is displayed on the central balcony architrave. Both are scenically located at the top of the town. The villa, carefully recovered and restored, is located less than a kilometer from the town center of Piazza Armerina, in a rural setting that still preserves the charm and beauty of the countryside in this area of inland Sicily. The farmhouse consists of two bodies positioned in an "L" shape and developed on two floors, with exposed bricks and fine finishes that embellish this ancient dwelling. On the ground behind the villa, a charming patio with a garden has been created, which is also used as a restaurant area for romantic dinners and suggestive breakfasts. On the walls, you can notice the Trigona family crest. The villa has a swimming pool with a solarium located in an elevated area so that you can enjoy a better view while being transported by silence and relaxation. In the heart of Sicily, in the city that hosts the archaeological site that represents one of the most significant and important testimonies of classical age, the Villa Romana del Casale, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Villa Trigona offers an unforgettable stay and allows easy access to other interesting destinations on a magnificent journey through the history and culture of our beautiful land.
