Villa San Gennariello B&B

Bed & Breakfast in Portici in the mid-centre

Villa San Gennariello is a magnificent 18th-century villa, surrounded by a lush park with ancient trees, palms, and rare plants. This extraordinary structure is part of the Bourbon Pheasantry complex of the Royal Palace of Portici, and still retains the beauty and splendor of when Portici was a beloved destination for Neapolitan nobility in the 18th century. In the heart of the marvelous Gulf of Naples, at the foot of the majestic Vesuvius, stands Villa San Gennariello Royal Bourbon Pheasantry, immersed in enchanting Mediterranean vegetation. The main attractions of the Gulf of Naples are just steps away. Today, the city can be considered an ideal starting point and an interesting destination not only for those who wish to discover the local attractions. Located a short distance from the excavations of Herculaneum and Pompeii, and centrally positioned between Sorrento and Naples, from here you can comfortably embark on fascinating archaeological itineraries and spectacular natural routes, exploring a coast dominated by the charm of Vesuvius and protected from the sea by the alluring islands of Capri, Ischia, and Procida.

Our breakfast

Our breakfast has always been appreciated by all our guests: in addition to the delicious croissants, yogurt and jams, you will also find homemade cakes, fresh seasonal fruit, local cheeses and cold cuts. You won't be able to resist the freshly squeezed orange juice and, why not, tomato bruschetta, omelettes and much more. And if you have any special requests, don't hesitate to ask: we will do our best to accommodate you. The buffet will be set up in our cozy and bright eighteenth-century dining room. During the summer, you can also enjoy breakfast in the beautiful outdoor courtyard.

Restaurant

Ask to try a delicious dinner, served in the splendid courtyard, or to participate in a fun cooking lesson (with the Cesarine); you won't regret it!

In our garden, three affectionate dogs live, occupying a reserved area just for them. Area mid-centre

Today, the beautiful city of Portici is an ideal starting point and a fascinating destination for all travelers eager to discover the wonders of the area. Located centrally between Naples and the Amalfi Coast, Portici will allow you to easily reach Herculaneum (just a 15-minute walk away) and Pompeii, where you can visit the fascinating archaeological excavations. You can also venture to Sorrento thanks to the convenient Circumvesuviana subway (the Via Libertà stop is only 700 meters away). If you're looking for some shopping, we suggest visiting the center of Portici and the lively Via Leonardo da Vinci with its welcoming shops and bars. Additionally, the city offers a wide choice of quality restaurants to suit all budgets. You absolutely must not miss the nearby Torre del Greco, famous worldwide for its pearl and coral processing. Nature lovers can explore the picturesque Vesuvius National Park. Furthermore, you can visit the splendid 18th-century Vesuvian Villas, which often host cultural events, concerts, and literary meetings in spring and summer. If you're here for work or study, know that we are a short distance from the University of Agraria, the Zooprophylactic Institute, and the Antoniano Foundation. We gladly welcome out-of-town students for exams. Starting in April, there is also a maritime connection service from the Granatello Port to the enchanting island of Capri. Feel free to ask for information on personalized tours; there are always new discoveries to be made!
