Hello everyone, allow me to briefly introduce the story of the Giano bed and breakfast, as well as the history of our family, the Menna family.
It all started over 30 years ago when Vincenzo and Maria, who were just married at the time, opened a small fruit and vegetable store. Their products were sold not only raw, but also cooked. There was a demand from customers for heated vegetables, vegetables preserved in oil, and even take-out snacks and breakfasts.
Gradually, the number of customers increased as they appreciated the freshness, seasonality, and authenticity of the products.
Over the years, as the store became "tight," the Menna family expanded with the arrival of two children: Giovanna and Raffaele.
After obtaining their diplomas, they immediately joined the business to help their parents. Thus, the store expanded and became a true "fast food" restaurant, offering quick and convenient take-out meals, while maintaining the fundamental principle that had always accompanied the business: only seasonal, fresh, and freshly cooked food (such as pasta and potatoes, pasta and beans, penne with tomato sauce, meatballs in sauce, and vegetable sides).
Just behind the Tavola dei Sapori, you will find the residence of the Menna family, a house that is too big and spacious for the four family members.
From here, the idea was born to open the doors of their home to guests, customers, and workers, with the inauguration of the Giano bed and breakfast, offering a stay characterized by simplicity and serenity, in a completely familiar atmosphere.
The name of the B&B refers to the deity Giano, from the Latin "lanus," the god of beginnings.
The deity is depicted with two faces: one looking to the past and the other reaching towards the future, the guardian of every passage and transformation, the protector of everything that represents a beginning and an end. In the same spirit, the Menna family looks to the future, innovating while carrying their own past, a past responsible for the present.
