The Porta Del Mare was established as the first B&B in the historic centre of Portoferraio during the spring of 2010. It features three rooms with private bathrooms, two of which are romantic double rooms with enchanting sea views, and one triple room furnished in a Tuscan style with a panoramic window overlooking Forte Falcone and the historic centre. All rooms are non-smoking, and include bed linen, towels, hairdryers, toiletries, a full-length mirror, TV, mini fridge, and free Wi-Fi. My first experience with a bed and breakfast was in Liguria in 2001, somewhat by chance and somewhat out of necessity. That's when I discovered what I could - or rather, wanted to - do when I grew up: offer hospitality, welcome people and their unique stories into my home. Through the combined efforts of myself and those close to me, I was able to reach the sea of my homeland, Tuscany. This journey continues today in the historic centre of Portoferraio, on the fourth floor of a Renaissance building overlooking the central Piazza Cavour, in front of the Porta a Mare - dating back to the 16th century - which gives the B&B its name.
