Pietra d'Acqua

Bed & Breakfast in Buti in the hills

Nestled among chestnut trees and acacias in a small, quiet valley on the slopes of Monte Serra, Pietra d’Acqua provides an intimate and genuine welcome, where connection with nature intertwines with a family history and renewal. What is now a retreat dedicated to relaxation was once a stable with a drying room for chestnuts, thoughtfully restored and over the years transformed into a guesthouse that retains the charm of its origins. Travelers are greeted by Alessandra, a dedicated and passionate innkeeper raised in a family of bakers. Her personal journey has led her to rediscover the joy of hospitality through a special cuisine, featuring homemade gluten-free and lactose-free desserts designed for authentic and inclusive well-being. Each space reflects her sensitivity, adorned with carefully selected furnishings, antique family pieces, and vintage items that narrate a harmonious balance between tradition and comfort. The property offers an independent apartment and two rooms, each overlooking the forest and characterized by warm, relaxing atmospheres. The spaces are bright, tranquil, and surrounded by greenery, perfect for those looking to slow down, breathe fresh air, and reconnect with the natural rhythm of the day. The garden and the surrounding peace complete a stay designed to rejuvenate both mind and body. Located just a short distance from the village of Buti, guests can experience the Tuscan mountains authentically, enjoying scenic trails, walks in nature, and moments of pure contemplation, while remaining conveniently connected to the art cities of Pisa, Lucca, Volterra, and Vinci. Pietra d’Acqua is a place where simplicity is valued, and each stay transforms into an experience filled with silence, nature, and heartfelt hospitality.

You will be hosted by Alessandra

The B&B Pietra d’Acqua is run by Alessandra, a sensitive and passionate soul who has turned a personal experience into a genuine hospitality project. After discovering her gluten intolerance, she decided not to give up the joy of baked goods, creatively reinterpreting them through the preparation of gluten-free and lactose-free desserts designed to provide an inclusive and authentic experience. Raised in a family of artisan bakers, she has a deep connection to this valley, which her parents acquired over forty years ago when it was still a wild and quiet place. With sensitivity and respect for the memory of the area, Alessandra has breathed new life into what was once a simple barn, transforming it into a welcoming home where every detail tells a story, featuring tastefully chosen furnishings, unique objects, and a genuine concern for the well-being of her guests. Her discreet yet caring presence guides visitors through a stay characterized by a slow pace, nature, and mindful hospitality, where they can feel welcomed with simplicity and warmth.
