Our property, The Emperor's Farm, was the residence of the farmers who lived in Portoferraio around 1814, in the service of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte who, against his will, was landed on Elba. Here, the cultivation of vines and olive trees mainly produced table oil and wine. Among these, the modest Aleatico and Moscato were also produced, two typical sweet wines of our island.
It is said that Napoleon, a great lover of books on agriculture, enjoyed observing and rewarding the farmers during his morning horse rides, for their hard work and skill in their jobs. The Emperor himself said: "I chose the Island of Elba considering the kindness of its inhabitants and the pleasantness of the climate. They will always be the object of my keen interest."
Our two rooms have been designed to keep the history of the house and the people who lived there in the past alive, with a modern touch. We wanted to give them the names of the women who were part of Emperor Napoleon's life and who lived on Elba during his exile.
In the morning, you can enjoy a delightful breakfast in the charming courtyard, in the shade of a majestic hundred-year-old apricot tree with a rich history.

Maria's bedroom consists of two rooms, a living room with a double sofa bed and a bedroom with a double bed from which you can access the private bathroom of the room. She is inspired by one of Napoleon's three women who stayed on Elba during the exile of the Emperor, Maria Waleska. Warm colors will make your stay unique.
The room of Paolina, takes its name from one of Napoleon's sisters, the only one who stayed on Elba during the exile of the emperor. From cold colors of gray and various shades and shades of blue will make your stay relaxing and pleasant single!
The adventure with "Il podere dell'Imperatore" began in 2008, when we visited the house and immediately fell in love with this enchanting place.
Despite being neglected and abandoned, we immediately sensed its immense potential and charm.
Surrounded by indescribable peace and tranquility, it conveyed relaxing sensations. The history tied to its past was fascinating, and the future seemed to promise even more.
It was love at first sight. Without hesitation, after a few months, it became ours. Thanks to patience, sacrifices, and the help of precious friends without whom all of this would not have been possible, our dream took shape and transformed into the oasis of peace it is today.
The estate is entirely managed by our family: myself, Cristina, my husband Vittorio, and our daughter Virginia, always under the watchful eye of our two magnificent Labradors, Creonte and Medea, and our "special" goose, Guendalina.
The Emperor's estate is located just 10 minutes from the city center and only 50 meters from Napoleon's residence. It is situated in a quiet and peaceful area, perfect for rest. You can easily reach the city center using public transportation such as the bus. The estate is surrounded by vineyards and charming trails immersed in the woods, ideal for hiking and trekking enthusiasts or those who prefer to explore by mountain bike. This residence is perfect for those who want to fully experience Elba, even during non-summer months, in all its facets.
