The B&B Cherry Garden blooms in the historic district of Pigneto, a lively setting for popular events.
During the Second World War, Pigneto, along with its working-class social composition like San Lorenzo, played a significant role in the anti-fascist movement and, like the latter, suffered Allied bombings in 1943 and 1944. On the night between March 31 and April 1, 2009, a fire, most likely deliberate, destroyed one of the neighborhood's historic places: Bar Necci on Via Fanfulla da Lodi, known by many as one of the main locations in Pasolini's first film, Accattone. The establishment reopened on April 15, hosting the premiere of Francesca Archibugi's new film, Matters of the Heart, with the entire cast.
In recent years, thanks in part to its proximity to Rome's "La Sapienza" University and its large population of out-of-town students, Pigneto has become one of the liveliest centers of the Capital's nightlife. The neighborhood offers typical venues such as trattorias, wine bars, taverns, street food vendors, tea rooms, bookstores, vintage shops, antique shops, and modern art galleries.
The B&B is located in the heart of the neighborhood, just 300 meters from tram stop number 14, which terminates at Termini Station, and 400 meters from the subway stop.
