The Ossola Valley is shaped like a large maple leaf whose ribs and veins are the streams and rivulets running through the valley and mountains and flowing into Toce River. The far ends of the leaf are the northern borders of Italy while the stalk reaches down to Maggiore Lake. Usually divided into the Lower Ossola with the area's main town of Vogogna (5 min from the B&B), and Upper Ossola with Domodossola (10 min from the B&B), it boasts a rich variety of both natural and cultural interests, including the charming little Mergozzo Lake (20 min from the B&B). The valleys and impressive mountains, the Alps and the pick of Monte Rosa surround Maggiore Lake and give shape to a territory wich is still unspolt and waiting to be discovered.
