Ca' Isidoro takes its name from the man who had the building constructed, Isidoro Fossetta, a famous "remer" in Venice in the early 1900s. He, along with his brothers, ran a large workshop for the production of oars and rowlocks in the Tagiapiera area, near the Arsenal.
In 1926, Isidoro founded his new workshop in the San Lorenzo area, on the Fondamenta di San Giorgio degli Schiavoni, in front of the rio.
This workshop, measuring 24 meters long, 9 meters high, and with three entrance doors, was also where Isidoro built his home with the address 3376/a.
Over the years, it was discovered that Isidoro chose this area because it was difficult to be invaded by high tides. This choice helped his daughter Marcella and subsequently his descendants.
The grand residence that now overlooks the "old workshop" has been inhabited over the years by Isidoro's grandchildren and today, in the same apartment that belonged to their great-great-grandfather, Fabio offers the beauty of Venice, its canals, and the lagoon to guests who wish to share these eternal emotions.
