Immersed in the enchanting landscape of the Sienese countryside, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and cultivated fields, Agriturismo La Terra is located amidst the gentle hills of the Val di Chiana, on the border between Tuscany and Umbria.
Situated not far from the charming village of Petrignano, this ancient farmhouse and its extensive panoramic garden create a peaceful oasis where you can enjoy a different vacation every day, thanks to the numerous opportunities offered by our location.
You can choose between a walk in the woods or a visit to nearby art cities such as Siena, Arezzo, Florence, or Perugia, as well as Etruscan and Renaissance villages like Cortona, Montepulciano, and Pienza. Alternatively, you can relax in the nearby thermal baths of Chianciano, Bagno Vignoni, or Bagni di San Filippo, or engage in water sports on Lake Trasimeno.
And when you return home, you will always be greeted with a good glass of wine to enjoy while admiring a spectacular sunset over Montepulciano.
Our place is an ideal destination for a peaceful and safe vacation during this unique summer: plenty of space for few guests, many exclusive corners of the garden, strict compliance with regulations, and the necessary sanitization of common areas and rooms, which we also carry out using ozone.
We welcome you to our ancient farmhouse, where we also live, immersed in the harmonious Tuscan landscape on the border with Umbria. We can accommodate a maximum of 14 people in 2 apartments and two rooms.
In our small restaurant, we offer traditional cuisine in a friendly atmosphere. In addition to shared breakfast and dinner with our guests, we also organize simple cooking lessons where we prepare tagliatelle, ravioli, ragù, or anything else you would like to try, and then enjoy it together in the evening. And once a week, we make pizza with our guests, baking it in the wood-fired oven! We will also be happy to tell you about the many places, big and small, famous or hidden gems, to visit in the surroundings... to discover this little corner of Tuscany.

We are a family, Ilaria and Pierpaolo, together with our children Bernardo and Gilla. We have made the decision to leave the hustle and bustle of the city and move to the countryside to rediscover a genuine connection with nature and its rhythms. We want to share these experiences with our guests, offering them a unique opportunity to discover the beauty of rural life.
Since we started this new adventure in 2013, we have brought our experiences and passions with us. Pierpaolo is a passionate cook, he loves painting and giving new life to forgotten objects. You will experience the joy of seeing what he has planted grow and taste his delicious culinary creations.
Ilaria works in the world of children's books and is fascinated by stories and illustrations. It will be a pleasure for her to create that magic that happens when an adult reads a story to the little ones.
Furthermore, we will be happy to share with you the places, big and small, more or less well-known, to visit in our area. We will suggest unique experiences to discover the peculiarities of this wonderful part of Tuscany: wine tastings, visits to cheese factories with delicious samples, horseback riding or organized bike tours. We will be happy to book these activities for you, or we can do them together once you are here.

Area hills
The La Terra farmhouse is strategically located to explore the wonders of the Val d'Orcia, Val di Chiana, Lake Trasimeno, and Umbria. With short excursions of a few hours, you can visit Montepulciano, Cortona, Pienza, Monticchiello, and enjoy the breathtaking panorama of the Val d'Orcia, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can also visit Castiglione del Lago and Lake Trasimeno with its pristine islands. With a half-day available, you can visit Siena and Montalcino, Arezzo, Perugia, Orvieto, and Assisi. Alternatively, you can enjoy a thermal bath at the Bagli di San Filippo hot springs or admire the spectacular Sant'Antimo Abbey. However, our favorite spot is the small village of Bagno Vignoni, a charming Renaissance hamlet centered around a pool of hot and steaming thermal water from an underground source. Time seems to have stopped in this village. Between visits, you can relax in the peace and tranquility of our garden, which offers numerous panoramic corners perfect for reading or conversing, sipping a good glass of wine, or taking a nap. For those who prefer activity, there are swimming pools, a basketball court, and a ping-pong table available.
