Villa Sine Tempore Fumarola is located in a peaceful area south of Matera, not far from the historic center and only 500m from the entrance of Via Casalnuovo, which leads to the Sassi di Matera area and near the Gravina river, in an area of great environmental and scenic value. The building, called Casino Crapulli, is situated along the path that leads to the former Capuchin convent.
The Fumarola family purchased the property from Professor Giovanni Crapulli in 1976, who had inherited it from his great-grandfather Crapulli Eustachio in 1971.
The villa, built between the late 1800s and early 1900s, was the residence of the nobility of that time, a residential house not far from the city. Its architectural structure reflects the taste of its visionary first owner and, despite its simple and classic characteristics, showcases its grandeur.
Passing through the wrought iron gate, one finds themselves immersed in the historic terraced garden, where the presence of nature becomes increasingly predominant as you advance towards the residence.
A garden that magically transforms with each season, making way for two terraces overlooking the Matera canyon. As a residential house, the visionary creator successfully harmonized the interior and exterior, creating an atmosphere of total relaxation.
The residence presents itself as an alternative in the Matera area to showcase the history and culture of that period when, amidst cultural and hygienic degradation and the label of "Matera, shame of Italy," there existed a small group of nobles who cared about their social status.
Villa Sine Tempore Fumarola has the possibility to host small events and has a bar inside. It offers pre-wedding refreshments, celebrations for special occasions, or simply the opportunity to enjoy an aperitif in complete relaxation in the surrounding historic garden.
