The Bed and Breakfast is located inside the ancient Villa Buzzati and is managed by Valentina, the renowned writer's great-granddaughter.
"I chose to live in this enchanting place, immersing myself in the mountains out of passion, searching for places and emotions to transform into drawings, stories, poetry, and hospitality."
"This residence is a true magical refuge, rich in history and stories. Until a few years ago, it remained closed and cold for most of the year. The windows overlooking the garden and mountains were only opened during the summer months, the months of 'vacation,' as holidays were called in the past. My grandmother Nina, along with her siblings, spent every summer of her life here, from the beginning of the last century until today. During those months, the house was filled with voices, colors, and people. All of us grandchildren spent vacation periods here."
"The villa opened itself to the July sun and breathed in the warm summers, the September storms, the autumn lights, and then closed itself again with the scents of stoves lit at the first cold of October. Then it remained alone throughout the winter, waiting.. for the arrival of spring, the sound of cars on the gravel of the courtyard, and a new season."
"It is here that Dino Buzzati, my grandmother's brother, writer, journalist, and painter, was born. Although he lived in Milan, like all of us, he regularly spent the month of September in this house, writing, walking, and climbing the nearby mountains, together with my mother and his friends."
"Perhaps to not leave this big house too lonely, I decided to come and live here and open its windows to the garden and mountains, in every season of the year. Furthermore, I thought of offering hospitality by opening a small Bed and Breakfast, to all those who can appreciate the magic and history of this place, savoring the atmosphere that has always fascinated me since I was a child. Between passion, respect, and fear for something that lies between the heart and the soul, for something that I still struggle to understand and that therefore grips me."
