Velardi B&B
The B&B is located just outside Viagrande, an Etna town rich in history and traditions, once a summer residence of the nobility of Catania. Its name comes from Vilardi, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Viagrande, almost entirely destroyed by the earthquake of 1693. The house is just a 5-minute walk from the Mother Church, the delightful Viscalori village, bars, pizzerias, and shops. It's a typical Sicilian dwelling from the late 1800s, renovated with full respect for traditional architecture. The country-style furnishings with a touch of ethnic elements give a feeling of warmth and familiarity in all environments. The attentions of Susanna, the landlady, will do the rest to make you feel relaxed and pampered, better than at home.
The three rooms available to guests are located on the first floor of the house, which can be accessed independently, and overlook a large central living room with a terrace. All rooms in our Bed & Breakfast have elegant furnishings, Wi-Fi, centralized heating, air conditioning, and various comforts for a pleasant stay.
To start the day off right, you can enjoy rich and authentic breakfasts with seasonal, organic, and locally sourced products. Homemade bread baked in traditional stone ovens, organic jams and honey, seasonal fruit from the orchards of Mount Etna, sweets made with ancient grains and traditional pastries, and freshly squeezed Sicilian orange juice.. all served in a cozy living room in winter or, during the beautiful season, in the shade of citrus trees in the garden.
The Spice Room, in shades of pink and orange, is a very large and stately double room. The elegant bathroom has a double sink, shower and tub. I warmly welcome my guests with sincere hospitality and strive to meet their every need to ensure their comfort. My home is characterized by a focus on the environment and a love for beautiful, natural things. I prepare a rich and abundant breakfast with local and organic products. From spring to autumn, the natural garden provides a peaceful oasis and a further sense of well-being.
As a biologist, I am dedicated to the conservation and management of nature. Currently, I manage the Monteserra Butterfly House, an important tourist destination in Viagrande, where I would be delighted to host you for a guided tour among the world's most beautiful butterflies. I am also a certified hiking guide and can organize guided hikes along the most scenic natural routes in eastern Sicily.
The house, located at the entrance of Viagrande, is strategically positioned to quickly reach the main tourist destinations in the area, from Mount Etna to the Ionian coast's sea, to Taormina, as well as to reach the CT-PA highway. It is just a stone's throw away from the delightful village of Viscalori, where the gardening and crafts event called "Viscalori in Fiore" takes place in spring.
