San Leonardello Farmhouse offers ground floor accommodation with separate entrance, private bathroom, heating, air conditioning, a small fridge and a panoramic view. You can choose flats with kitchen, double rooms, double rooms for single use, communicating double rooms or accommodation for larger groups.
The cooking classes at the Farmhouse San Leonardello will take you on a multi-sensory journey in a family atmosphere, including appetisers, desserts and recipes from the Sicilian gastronomic tradition. Sicilian cuisine is an art, an expression of the various cultures that have dominated the island and made it rich in specialities over the centuries.
The ecology school at the Farmhouse San Leonardello is the ideal opportunity to offer our guests environmental education itineraries. Our educational programmes will lead them to discover the world around them through the use of all the senses.

The dinner is organized on request, communicating it in the morning at breakfast, and includes a fixed menu of typical Sicilian dishes with appetizer, two first courses, two second courses, side dish, fruit, dessert and limoncello of our production. We are Vera and Saria Calabretta, and since we were little we have breathed in the scent of orange blossom, the flower of the lemon tree. The love for these places has led us to want to continue a story rich in emotions and traditions. These lands on the slopes of Etna were bought at the end of the 1800s by our grandfather Rosario Calabretta, a descendant of a family of citrus exporters.
Many of the plants still present in the garden are the same ones planted and cared for with love and passion by our grandfather. In the early 1900s lemon cultivation was so predominant in this part of Sicily that the whole Ionian area is still called the ‘lemon Riviera’.
Since 2000, thanks to an idea of our parents and driven by the desire to share and enhance this place that is dear and special to us, we have decided to start an agritourism activity. The houses that now welcome our guests were the country houses where the family used to gather and spend most of the summerWe are very proud to preserve this historic garden and have decided to produce by limiting the environmental impact according to the method of organic cultivation (ICEA certification).
Environmental sustainability and the desire to preserve the history of this place have always guided our choices.
The farmhouse San Leonardello will be the ideal starting point to spend pleasant days of relaxation and fun. Nature lovers will be able to set out to discover the Etna Park, choosing between the various paths that branch out among woods, caves and craters.
You can also book guided excursions that will take you safely up to an altitude of 3, 000 metres, where you can admire the summit crater of Europe’s largest active volcano.
Alternatively, you can choose tasting tours, sightseeing trips to some of the most beautiful places in Sicily, relaxing days in Arab baths close to our hotel which also offer a free transfer service, and many other activities such as donkey rides in the Etna park, horse riding by the sea, adventure parks, water parks (Etnaland).
