Poggio Monte is a magnificent estate that covers 58 hectares, surrounded by thousands of hectares of greenery. Its elevated position offers a 360-degree open view of the surrounding countryside. It is an oasis of vibrant and unspoiled nature. The paths that intersect on the estate allow you to walk through cultivated fields and the natural woodland area that is home to deer, foxes, and other small animals. Right next to the main farmhouse, on a gentle hill, you will find the Olive Grove, a place suitable for spending pleasant moments of contemplation in the shade of its 350 ancient trees.
The property has been renovated respecting the ancient charm of the 1700s, using eco-building technologies, and is completely self-sufficient with eco-friendly heating and facilities. Although the house is very old, it has a simple and modern atmosphere. Poggio Monte was born as a project that aims to promote personal growth, spirituality, love, and respect for nature. We can accommodate yoga groups, focusing groups, hiking groups with naturalist routes, and children and family groups. There are no televisions here. We promote social development, we read and relax under the trees, however, we do have a Wi-Fi point.
From our infinity pool, you can enjoy a splendid view of the olive grove and the hills. The pool (not heated) is open from May to September, depending on weather conditions.
We offer yoga lessons or retreats with professional instructors from around the world (minimum 6 participants).
Upon reservation, we can arrange coffee breaks, buffet lunches, and dinners (vegetarian and vegan menus are available upon request).
Hot beverages such as coffee, cappuccino, tea, milk, and fruit juices are waiting for you here. Enjoy the delicious cakes and homemade bread. Indulge in jam and butter, or choose yogurt and fresh fruit. If you are a lover of cured meats and cheeses, you won't be disappointed. Additionally, upon request, we can also offer gluten-free and vegan options.
We offer the possibility to satisfy our guests' taste buds with exquisite cuisine, but remember that it is necessary to book in advance in order to enjoy our dishes. Our menu is prepared with fresh local products, guaranteeing a true culinary experience. You will be able to savor the typical specialties of Maremma, immersing yourself in the authentic culinary tradition of the region. Furthermore, we also offer a vegetarian or vegan menu to meet the different dietary needs of our guests. Do not miss the opportunity to try the unique and delicious dishes that our cuisine has to offer!
In our team, Laura is our expert Focusing Trainer, Sarah is an Ayurvedic therapist, and Matt is a farmer and marketing expert. You can find all of us here, at least Sarah and Matt, ready to welcome you, show you the property, prepare breakfast, and provide information about the area. Throughout the year, we participate in farm activities, taking care of everything that is necessary. It would be a pleasure for us if someone wanted to join us in our activities. Our project has been evolving for about 10 years and has taken a slightly different direction from the original, becoming a farm stay while maintaining the same values. The property includes three structures: a large main farmhouse with rooms and apartments, a smaller self-contained cottage, and another independent house. There are spaces dedicated to yoga and group activities, a swimming pool, and we are currently creating an educational path for children. We would be happy to welcome you on our journey.
We are located in a central position, close to Poggio Murella and the Terme di Saturnia. The fascinating Etruscan cities of Pitigliano, Sovana, and Sorano are only a 15-minute drive from Manciano and offer the opportunity to visit the castle and do some shopping in supermarkets. Just 50 minutes away is the Tyrrhenian coast with numerous unspoiled locations such as Capalbio and several natural parks, including the famous Uccellina Park and the wonderful Tarot Garden with incredible sculptures by Nikki Sanphalle. Grosseto, a medieval city surrounded by ancient walls (market day is Thursday), can be reached in an hour by car, while Rome and the airports are an hour and a half away, Pisa is two hours away, and Florence is three hours away. There are numerous restaurants, wine bars, and vineyards to visit in the immediate vicinity, and many traditional festivals take place during the spring. Enjoy your vacation in Maremma!
