Located in the northeast part of the historic city of Chiavenna, overlooking the central square of the Castle, is Palazzo Salis.
Its construction dates back to the eighteenth century, when the Salis family from Grisons decided to use it as their city residence.
It is said that the goal was to create a more elegant and decorated building than the austere castle of the Balbiani, which stands on the other side of the square.
