Located in the ancient village of Maruggio, the bed and breakfast 'Nu Suennu (A Dream) elegantly preserves an ancient flavor that refuses to be lost in modern life. Dating back to the early 1700s, the structure was once the municipal headquarters of our small town and has maintained the architectural elements of that era while allowing for an elegant renovation.
Consisting of four small apartments, all with bathrooms, capable of accommodating from two to four people. The limited traffic zone of the historic center offers the convenience of a serene and relaxing environment with the immediate possibility of visiting the precious monuments inherited from the millennia of the Knights of Malta.
Available in the Bed and Breakfast formula, 'Nu Suennu is the heart of the ancient village of Maruggio and is only 3 km from the "seven-colored" sea of Campomarino di Maruggio.
Maruggio, already the Magisterial Commander of the Knights of Malta for over 500 years, is located in the upper part of Salento and is equidistant from the three Salento provinces (Taranto, Brindisi, and Lecce). The golden beaches with majestic dunes, the ancient village, and the Mediterranean cuisine make Maruggio the ideal place for any type of vacation.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, built with barrel, star, or carriage vaults, according to popular tradition. The floor is rich in geometric decorations typical of that era. The wall sconces are handcrafted, made with typical Salento stone.
Each room has a minibar, private bathroom, desk, air conditioning, hairdryer, television, and decorative finishes on the private balconies. They are named after the four winds that blow in Maruggio: Scirocco, Tramontana, Brindisino, and Calabrese.
The common room is a welcoming and bright space where you can spend moments of sharing in complete relaxation.
Cleaning and change of sheets and linens are done every three days for extended stays. Each room can accommodate an additional bed or, if preferred, be converted into a double or twin room.
Tramontana? (Northerly) The "Tramontana" is a double room with a balcony overlooking the old town. The special feature of this room is the bathroom, positioned on a higher level. The vault was restored maintaining the original stones. The tuff on sight allows the past to live again through the present.
Brindisino? (from the city of Brindisi) The "Brindisino" is a double or twin room, with a French window allowing you to enter a covered internal garden. One of the walls is made of tuff on sight, giving a rustic appearance.
Scirocco? (Sirocco) Two rooms compose the “Scirocco”: a double room and a single room. The double room has a balcony overlooking the old town, while the single room has a small and private balcony equipped with table and chairs.
