The Giustiniani Masseria, located in the heart of the agricultural estate, is surrounded by lush Primitivo vineyards and represents the perfect place to spend a vacation in complete tranquility. Waking up in the morning to the singing of birds or the sound of cicadas gives a pleasant sense of peace to both the mind and body. The delightful cuisine with fresh local products, the excellent Primitivo wine, and the extra virgin olive oil complete the unique experience that a stay in this Masseria can offer to the body and soul.
The offered breakfast is abundant and diverse, capable of satisfying every type of need. Our delicious pastries, made with natural ingredients and freshly baked every morning, the tasty homemade jams with seasonal fruit, the dairy products and cheeses provided by the local producer, the bread and durum wheat friselle accompanied by tomatoes grown in our garden, are the main quality elements that characterize our breakfast offer.
Our cuisine is a true culinary treasure that reflects local and Apulian tradition. We only use fresh products from the area, grown just a few kilometers away. You can enjoy exquisite cavatelli with sauce, orecchiette made with durum wheat and Manduria cherry tomatoes with basil, as well as a delicious fava bean puree accompanied by country vegetables seasoned with extra virgin olive oil from the cellina and ogliarola varieties. You won't be able to resist our layered maccheroncini with fried artichokes cooked in a wood-fired oven, or the stuffed eggplants and yellow peppers with a tasty mix of minced meat and rice. And for seafood lovers, you can't miss out on the spaghetti or cavatelli with mussels, a dish that will win you over. Lastly, you mustn't miss our "carne alla pignata", cooked in a wood-fired oven with bay leaves and wild fennel, for a unique and enveloping flavor.
In the heart of Friuli, specifically in Torricella, I have been residing since 1984. Here, I passionately dedicate myself to managing an agricultural company and a farmhouse. I have had the opportunity to participate in various wine and olive oil tasting courses, becoming a genuine expert in typical Salento cuisine. Furthermore, I consider myself a enthusiast of traditional cooking, which utilizes local, zero-kilometer products, just as one would do in a family setting.
The Giustiniani farmhouse is conveniently located to reach the main tourist destinations of Salento. You can visit the baroque city of Lecce, which is only 50 km away, or the charming white city of Ostuni, just 49 km away. Martina Franca and the Itria Valley are only 45 km away, while the famous trulli of Alberobello are 69 km away. You can also explore the enchanting ravines of Castellaneta, 72 km away, or the picturesque stones of Matera, 105 km away. Only 62 km away is Locorotondo, while you can visit the Castellana Caves 85 km away.
Historically, the Giustiniani farmhouse is located on the border between the territory of the Spartans of Taranto and the Messapi of Manduria, and it was later influenced by the Byzantine and Lombard kingdoms. These two kingdoms were separated by a large dry stone wall called the "limitone dei Greci," which started from Brindisi, passed through Torricella, and ended in Gallipoli.
Nearby, you can visit Manduria with its ancient cyclopean walls of the Messapic civilization, the famous Pliny the Elder's fountain, the charming ghetto, the majestic Imperial Palace, and the Matrice church. Oria will welcome you with its impressive castle of Frederick II. In Grottaglie, you can visit the Episcopal Castle and the ceramics district, while in Taranto, you can admire the Gold Museum, the chamber tombs, the Doric columns, the Aragonese Castle, and the Laclos fortress on the island of San Pietro. Don't miss the opportunity to visit natural sites such as the Dunes of Campomarino and the Monaci salt pans.
