Locanda Margherita

The Locanda Margherita Bed and Breakfast is located in Rassa, in the picturesque and unspoiled natural environment of Valsesia, at the foot of Monte Rosa, only 16 km from Alagna. This enchanting place is ideal for spending your holidays in total relaxation. Monte Rosa, the mountain we call "our home," is just a few minutes' drive from Rassa, and you can easily reach its base and the Alta Valsesia Natural Park. With its imposing peaks, Monte Rosa is the second highest mountain in Europe and extends between Italy and Switzerland, forming part of the magnificent Pennine Alps.

The Locanda Margherita, an independent building built following the traditional Valsesian architecture of the early 1900s, using local stone and wood, will welcome you with its unique warmth and charm. This structure may have been built on the foundations of a much older building, of which only some parts of the perimeter walls and the vaulted cellars remain.

In 2005, for the opening of the Bed & Breakfast, the building was completely renovated, trying to preserve its style and original materials. The interiors have been tastefully furnished and decorated, maintaining the original larch wood floors, made from planks from the old sawmill in the village, which has been active since 1700 and is now transformed into a museum on wood processing. The walls and ceilings are covered in wood in some rooms and frescoed in others. Vintage prints, antique pieces, and modern objects have been carefully placed in the rooms and common areas, creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere, further enhanced by the gentle sound of the Sorba stream flowing right next to the structure.

For guests, there are three spacious bedrooms available, furnished with antique furniture and equipped with everything you need: cotton sheets, warm duvets for winter, and fresh towels.

The raised ground floor room, overlooking the stream, has two wrought iron beds, one double and one single, and is ideal for a couple or a family of three.

On the first floor, there is a room with two single beds, also overlooking the stream, ideal for a couple or two friends, and a second room with two single beds and a bunk bed, suitable for a family of four, overlooking the garden.

The two spacious and pleasantly furnished bathrooms, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor, are equipped with towels and hairdryers.
