The establishment is the result of a thoughtful renovation of two family homes, preserving local architectural traditions with exposed stone, wood, and original materials meticulously restored by local artisans.
The five rooms, each featuring a private entrance and bathroom, provide intimate and cozy spaces that echo the history of these mountains. The charm of the reclaimed wooden ceilings, the paneling made from original boards, and the curtains crafted from vintage hemp linens convey a simple and genuine past. From the balconies or the garden overlooking the forest, one can admire the lush nature and be lulled by the sounds of the woods.

Each morning, a basket filled with breakfast items awaits you at your door, which you can enjoy wherever you wish: in the tranquility of your room, outdoors among the chestnuts, or in the common area while planning your excursions. At Li Tzatagni, breakfast is tailored to your pace, allowing you the freedom to choose between two options. Each morning, starting at 8:15, you can receive a basket filled with local and homemade treats, either sweet or savory, accompanied by coffee, milk, and regional juice, which you can enjoy in your room, in the garden, or in the breakfast room at your leisure. Alternatively, with a reservation, you can visit the Moulin des Aravis for a lavish buffet featuring pastries, fruits, jams, cold cuts, and cheeses, all served in the charming setting of a historic 17th-century mill overlooking the Ayasse stream.

My name is Alessia, and I am from the Champorcher Valley. For the past twenty years, I have been running our family agriturismo, Le Moulin des Aravis. I cherish freedom, travel, and the opportunity to connect with different cultures—values that I find reflected in the nature and traditions of my homeland. Li Tzatagni is located in the heart of Pontboset, surrounded by ancient forests in the Champorcher Valley, nestled in an authentic corner of Valle d’Aosta where nature remains a prominent feature. The village of Châteigne, which houses this establishment, narrates the story of the chestnut tree, a long-standing symbol of the region and a silent witness to local traditions.
Around the area, trails wind along the Ayasse stream and pass through alpine villages characterized by traditional stone and wood buildings. From this point, it's easy to explore the valley, whether by walking to the Sanctuary of Retempio or tackling the routes of the Tor des Géants and Alta Via n. 2.
