The bed and breakfast La Luna e Il Sole is located at 79 Via Samuelli, one of the 7 "Rue" in the historic center of Barletta. During the war, the original building collapsed and it was only in 2010 that it was possible to rebuild it respecting the architecture of the historic center of my beloved city of Barletta. Therefore, it is possible to guarantee maximum safety, hygiene, and comfort.
Each room is located on a different floor, easily accessible via marble staircases. However, for those who have difficulty walking, there is also an elevator that will comfortably take you to your room. Once inside, you will find Memory Foam beds, air conditioning, wardrobe, desk, mini fridge, coffee machine, and electric kettle. The bathroom is private and equipped with towels, toiletries, hairdryer, and bidet. Additionally, the room on the second floor has a whirlpool tub for one person (available for an additional fee).
On the third floor, you will find a lovely terrace with a rooftop garden, where you can relax with a book in the shade of an umbrella, or sunbathe away from prying eyes.
Throughout the property, there is ultra-fast Wi-Fi connection, free for guests, so you can choose to stay connected during your stay.
In the morning, you can enjoy a delightful breakfast at a cozy affiliated bar nearby by presenting a special voucher. The breakfast includes, included in the cost, a creamy cappuccino (or coffee) and a freshly baked croissant. Additionally, we also offer options for vegan breakfasts and for those who are lactose or gluten intolerant.
My name is Francesco Conteduca and I am happy to welcome you to my bed and breakfast. As a child, I was fortunate to be born to parents who loved to travel, and I always had the dream of working in a hospitality establishment. This dream came true when my father decided to rebuild the house of his grandparents, which had collapsed during the war. Besides traveling, I love history and gardening. In fact, the small rooftop garden of the room on the third floor is my creation to which I am very attached. Upon your arrival, I will be personally present to welcome you and I will be happy to provide you with all the information about the property and recommend the places to visit and the best restaurants in the area.
By choosing our B&B, you decide to enjoy a relaxing stay on the doorstep of the city's history. In fact, just a few meters away, you will find the historic Palazzo della Marra (in Baroque style), home to the Pinacoteca which houses the paintings of the most famous Italian Impressionist painter, Giuseppe De Nittis. Also nearby are the Basilica of the Holy Sepulchre (where 3 fragments of the True Cross of Jesus are preserved), the bronze Colossus of Heraclius, a symbol of the city of Barletta, and the Cantina della Disfida, where the famous challenge between Italian and French knights took place in February 1503.
The same Swabian Frederick's Castle with its extensive gardens, and the Cathedral Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, can be reached on foot in 5 minutes, as well as the wide and long Ponente beach. Near the B&B you will also find many restaurants, bars, ice cream parlors, shops, cinemas, and theaters because a holiday is also about entertainment and fun.
