Restaurant

Visitors are warmly welcomed at La Campanara Inn, located in the shadow of the bell tower of the Church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli.

In the past, this inn served as the rectory of the village and today it represents the result of careful restoration work, using antique materials to preserve its original architecture and the charm of the stone houses.

The surrounding garden and vegetable garden create a delightful natural atmosphere for the inn, nestled in the green hills of the upper Bidente valley. The traditional cuisine is in constant dialogue with the present, representing the beating heart on which to experiment, interpret, and personalize.

Tradition is an authentic culture and knowledge of the territory, rooted in its origins.

Our continuous research over the years has always been inspired by the recovery of ancient recipes passed down orally, never transcribed because they were kept and passed on from generation to generation without the aid of writing, and precisely for this reason fragile over time.

Our dream was to have our own osteria, a corner of the world where we could welcome guests with simplicity and authenticity. While we returned to our jobs as a teacher and a surveyor during the week, on weekends, we would fantasize about what our ideal osteria would be like, envisioning a menu with seasonal dishes and home-cooked recipes.

One day, an article by Davide Paolini titled "The Osteria That Doesn't Exist" further inspired us. The dream could no longer remain tucked away, and we began to explore the idea of creating our own osteria with love and passion, even though the world of hospitality was unfamiliar to us.

So, we stumbled upon an old, nearly dilapidated stone house that had been abandoned for fifty years. Despite our initial shock, we envisioned the restoration and fell in love with the place's unique charm: the majestic bell tower, the austere stone walls of the church, the fig trees, the jujube tree clinging to the side of the house, and the creaking gate with a padlock. This house was known as "La Campanara" because its last inhabitant used to ring the bells for the priest. Thus, "La Campanara" was born, our osteria that once didn't exist.
