La Collina sui Trabocchi
On the hill overlooking the picturesque Costa dei Trabocchi, we have renovated an old house nestled in greenery, featuring a charming view of the Adriatic Sea. This property, born from a dream realized in 2008, is located in the countryside of Ortona, Abruzzo, just minutes away from the region's most beautiful beaches and the Punta dell’Acquabella nature reserve.
We offer two double rooms, which can also be rented separately for short stays, each with its own private bathroom. The shared garden provides a stunning sea view, and private parking is available on the premises. The use of the kitchen is not included.
I had a dream so vast that I couldn't just put it away in a drawer. So, several years ago, I embarked on a journey to find my ideal sanctuary. That's how I came across this enchanting place, or perhaps it found me: a charming house nestled in the tranquility of the countryside of Ortona, in Abruzzo. It was pure passion from the very first glance. The view is breathtaking: here you can enjoy the lush surrounding landscapes and, above all, the Adriatic Sea and the stunning Costa dei Trabocchi, with sights stretching all the way to the Gargano promontory, two regions away. "A piece of paradise" is a phrase that many guests write in our guestbook, which I jokingly refer to as "my natural antidepressant." Just a few months after purchasing, the dream had already materialized: I had created "a place to slow down the pace of life and make space for the soul," as the inscription at the entrance of the house states. This is a place for everyone, not just for me, and anyone who chooses to stay here, even for just one day, is warmly welcomed. It is up to you to express your opinion, while I refrain, as I couldn't be impartial. This is my ideal refuge.
We find ourselves surrounded by the countryside, in a tranquil area at the edge of the "Punta di Acquabella" nature reserve and just a short drive from the nearest town. This is where the beautiful Costa dei Trabocchi begins, with the first trabocco only five minutes away by car. The brand new cycling and walking path "Via Verde dei Trabocchi" is nearby and easily accessible by bike. Additionally, you will have the chance to explore some of the most stunning beaches along the Abruzzo coast, the Abbey of San Giovanni in Venere, the charming village of Rocca San Giovanni, and the D'Annunzio hermitage with the famous trabocco Turchino. Don't miss the chance to enjoy a unique experience dining on a trabocco, perhaps during a magical evening illuminated by the red moon over the sea. It’s truly enchanting.
