My name is Nives. Hosting is not a job for me, but a true passion.
Welcome to “La Casetta tra i Laghi”, a little retreat in the heart of the historical village of Borca di Omegna, just a few steps from Lake Orta.
Here, you can experience the charm of an old house made of stone, wood, and silence… just like in the past, but without giving up any modern comfort.
I have carefully renovated every corner of the Casetta, choosing new and functional furnishings, while lovingly restoring some vintage pieces to create authentic, cozy, and character-filled spaces.
The living area is spacious and includes a completely new kitchen (with utensils and appliances), a dining table, and a relaxing corner with a sofa bed.
The double bedroom is simple and airy, with a new and comfortable bed, blackout curtains, and a ceiling fan to ensure peaceful sleep.
The bathroom is fully renovated, with new fixtures, a shower box, a window, and a handy anteroom with an extra sink.
From the private balcony, you can enjoy a view of the lake and the village rooftops – perfect for an open-air breakfast or relaxing at sunset.
There’s no TV because here, time is measured in conversations, silence, walks, and small moments of beauty.
Although we’re in the heart of a historic village, parking is easy and convenient: just a few steps from the house there are two free parking spots and plenty of space along the road. You can stop right in front of the house to load or unload your luggage.
And if you wish, you can forget about your car for the entire stay: two mountain bikes are available for free, ideal for reaching Omegna – where you’ll find all necessary services – or for exploring the surrounding lakes and trails.
If you prefer e-bikes, you can rent them through our trusted shop and park them in the old stable under the house, equipped with power outlets for charging.
You’ll also have free Wi-Fi and a selection of information materials to help you discover the area.
I’ve lived here all my life and know the region well – I’ll be happy to recommend trails, restaurants, markets, beaches, and hidden gems to explore slowly and with intention.

La Casetta tra i Laghi is my little dream come true: a cozy nest where every detail has been chosen with love, simplicity, and a touch of poetry.
I was born and raised here, among the scent of the woods, the quiet of the alleys, and the shimmering waters of Lake Orta at sunset. I love nature, genuine things, kind gestures, and words that warm the heart.
Opening the doors of my Casetta means sharing all this: a place to feel good, sleep deeply, eat well, and start each day discovering hidden corners and authentic wonders.
I don’t really like the idea of “guests” and “hosts”: I prefer to think of every person who arrives as a meeting, a little piece of the journey to share—even just for a few days.
You’ll always find me available for a tip, a chat, or simply to give you the time and space you need.
For the past 9 years, I’ve also been running the Bed and Breakfast Tra i Laghi, with the same passion, care, and desire to make everyone feel truly welcome.

Nives
Borca is a small hamlet of Omegna overlooking Lake Orta — a quiet, slightly hidden corner where life moves more slowly. Stone houses, flowered balconies, and narrow alleys make you lower your voice and lift your gaze.
There’s no noise, no crowds. Just the charm of old villages, where time still has a good taste. Perfect if you want to switch off, breathe in nature and silence — but also if you like to explore. In just a few minutes, you can reach the center of Omegna with its shops and cafes, or Orta San Giulio, which looks like a postcard but is all real.
In summer, you can relax on little beaches, rent a boat, or put on your walking shoes and follow the trails through woods and hills, with views over the lake. And if you like biking, you'll be spoiled for choice.
Want to go further? The area is full of treasures: Lake Maggiore, Lake Mergozzo, little historic villages, markets, local festivals. Every season brings something worth experiencing.
Borca isn’t just a place to stay — it’s where you start to slow down, look around, and feel part of things again. In a simpler, more grounded way.
