It is believed that in this place there were the barn and the shelter for the livestock. In addition, in the heart of the olive grove, underground rooms had been dug out to keep cheeses, cured meats, and butter cool. It is precisely the preservation of butter that gave rise to the name "La Borraina".
Over the years, the farmhouse has been inhabited by farming families who produced not only oil and wine but also bread for the entire village. Even today, you can admire the majestic wood-fired oven located under the villa's loggia, which is still in operation.
