In the heart of Assisi's historic center, just a short walk from the Rocca Maggiore and the Church of Santa Maria delle Rose, Il Vico del Poeta welcomes travelers in a setting full of charm and authenticity. The establishment consists of two independent studios, Petra and Lignum, designed to provide the comfort and privacy of an apartment at the price of a hotel room. Each unit features a private bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, independent heating, a private entrance, and a daily prepared breakfast basket to ensure guests enjoy maximum freedom.
The ambiance reflects a lived-in and well-kept home, where hospitality is deeply valued. Stefano, the owner, shares this venture with his wife Chiara, a tour guide. Together, they greet guests with warmth and discretion, offering honest recommendations on routes, restaurants, and special places to explore, enhancing the authenticity of the stay.
Via Jorgensen, where the property is located, is a quiet and evocative alley just a few meters from Piazza del Comune. It was home to the Danish poet Johannes Jørgensen, and a plaque still commemorates him as an honorary citizen. The area retains medieval traces and Roman remains, along with frescoes and decorations that narrate Assisi’s history at every turn. A short distance away lies one of the city’s most charming viewpoints, perfect for enjoying the sunset with a glass of wine.
Il Vico del Poeta is not merely a place to sleep; it is a gateway to the most intimate and genuine parts of the city: a cozy refuge that inspires and makes you feel truly welcomed.
Breakfast is offered in a self-service, convenient, and flexible manner: each morning, guests find a thoughtfully prepared basket filled with packaged or ready-to-use items. This arrangement allows for a completely free start to the day, without time constraints, while preserving the intimacy and tranquility of their own space.
