The B&B Il Seccatoio is located in Castello di Riolunato (820 meters above sea level) and is situated in the middle of a chestnut forest. The house has been created from what was used until the end of the 1960s as a chestnut dryer, known as a "metato".
In close contact with nature, guests have access to three double rooms, each with its own bathroom, shower, hairdryer, and breakfast consisting of typical local products.
Riolunato, a town in the Frignano area, located in one of the most beautiful regions of the entire Apennine chain, is situated in a not very wide basin, protected by a range of mountain chains with steep peaks: Cimone, Monte Cantiere, Cento Croci.
The medieval nucleus speaks of the glorious past of this Apennine "hamlet" which witnessed the life and death of the infamous Obizzo di Montegarullo, a dark marquis in Frignano's history.
Streams flow nearby like the Scoltenna and the Rio di Castello, and ancient bridges are thrown over these waters like the Fola Bridge on the road to Pievepelago and the Luna Bridge on the road leading to the hamlet of Groppo.
In these places, you can breathe a new air, an atmosphere where dreaming is easy, and it's easy to believe in fairy tales, those fantastic stories that the mountain people up here know how to tell and even sing like in the May of the girls, a tradition of the most heartfelt local folklore. A green oasis among the harshness of the mountains, crowned with centuries-old chestnut groves and ancient beech forests.
