Rieti is a municipality in Italy, serving as the capital of both the province and the historical region of Sabina. It is regarded by classical writers as the central point of Italy (Umbilicus Italiae). Positioned in the fertile Reatina Plain, at the base of Mount Terminillo, and alongside the Velino River, Rieti is abundant in water resources, supplying much of Rome's drinking water.
