Ibla Barocca is located in the heart of Ragusa Ibla's historic center, just 200 meters from the beautiful late-baroque church of Purgatory in Republic Square and 5 minutes from the magnificent Cathedral of St. George. This new and welcoming structure offers spacious and bright rooms with private bathroom, equipped with courtesy sets, hair dryer, free Wi-Fi connection, air conditioning, and flat-screen TV in all areas. Additionally, the rooms offer a fantastic view of Ibla's historical monuments and the beautiful San Leonardo valley, crossed by the eponymous stream. The Italian breakfast can be enjoyed in the common area or directly in the room, which is equipped with a table and chairs. Ibla Barocca is only 15 km from the famous city of Modica, famous for its chocolate, and 27 km from the nearest airport, Comiso. The seaside resort of Marina di Ragusa is just 25 km away. Our guests recommend this delightful structure for its cleanliness, the brightness of the rooms, and the peace and quiet it offers thanks to its strategic location.
The structure is family-run; Giovanni and his mother take turns in managing the guests. After studying in Italy and Belgium, I decided to return to my hometown in Sicily to start new ventures. With years of experience in organizing study trips and leading groups of students in the UK and Ireland, I opened an English school and then a B&B in Ragusa Ibla. Furthermore, I hold a tour guide license which allows me to accompany foreign adult groups both in Italy and abroad. I have always enjoyed the tourism sector, I am always available and I love interacting with people.
The B&B Ibla Barocca is located near the Itria Church and the Cosentini Palace, which offers views of the imaginative cornices with grotesque figures and masks, among the most beautiful in Ragusa. In the Republic Square beneath it, the Church of the Holy Souls of Purgatory rises on a scenic staircase. The bell tower has its foundations on the ancient Byzantine walls and inside you can admire paintings such as the "Purgatory Souls" by Francesco Manno at the main altar and the "Madonna del Rosario" by Antonino Manno and the "Holy Family" by Tommaso Pollaci at the side altars. Around Republic Square there are restaurants and bars to refresh. Also, the bus stop in Republic Square takes you to both the Iblei Gardens and the Cathedral of S. Giovanni Battista in Ragusa Alta.
