The San Siro neighborhood is located in the western outskirts of the city and is part of Municipality 7. It borders Lampugnano and QT8, the old Fiera and Trenno, and is delimited to the south by via Novara and via Rembrandt. This district is characterized by the coexistence of two souls: a green one and another with large modern built-up areas that offer numerous services. Naturally, the first attraction to visit is the stadium. Completed in 1926, it was the stage for Milan's first match that year. At the time, the stadium was cutting edge and could accommodate 35,000 spectators. Over the years, many modifications have been made: in 1935, thanks to an expansion carried out by the Municipality of Milan, which acquired its ownership, its capacity was increased to 55,000 people. In 1947, Inter also began playing here, abandoning the Arena Civica. In the 1960s, the stadium reached a capacity of almost 100,000 spectators, until it was renovated once again for the 1990 World Cup in Italy. Inside the stadium is the Museum, which attracts over 25,000 tourists per month. Here, you can admire the trophies won by Inter and Milan, learn about the history of the facility, discover a series of memorabilia, and find out about non-football events hosted by the stadium, such as concerts and papal visits. The neighborhood is also home to the Gallop Racecourse, built starting in 1913 and has become a global reference point for horse racing enthusiasts. In addition to being a meeting place thanks to its green spaces and restaurants, it also hosts important concerts by international artists. Nearby is the Horse of Leonardo. This work was initially designed by Leonardo da Vinci at the end of the 15th century, but for technical reasons and due to the fall of the Signoria of Ludovico il Moro, it was never actually realized, despite Leonardo leaving numerous drawings and models. The area is home to numerous parks, such as the Bosco in Città , the Cave Park, and the Trenno Park.
