Holiday House in Reggio Calabria in the mid-centre
House Ciccilla is named after Gaetano Pio's grandmother, honoring his roots in the fishing village of Catona, a place he is deeply connected to and which continues to enchant all who discover it. Gaetano's passion for hospitality is evident in every detail of the property, designed to provide guests with a comfortable, authentic stay filled with attention to their needs.
The house is conveniently located just 300 meters from the sea, accessible by a short walk, and directly opposite the Catona train station. The center of Reggio Calabria is only 7 km away, featuring a waterfront regarded as one of the most beautiful in Italy, where visitors can witness the optical illusion of the Fata Morgana and, on clear days, enjoy the view of Mount Etna in the background. The National Archaeological Museum, famous for housing the Riace Bronzes, is also nearby.
The property is a detached house with a courtyard, spread over two levels: the ground floor hosts the living area equipped with all modern comforts, while the upper floor contains the bedrooms. Its central location allows guests to easily walk to all essential services, with train and bus stops just a few meters away.
House Ciccilla is also ideal for those wishing to explore the surrounding areas: Scilla, with the ancient village of Chianalea and the picturesque Costa Viola, is just 15 km away, while the mountains of Gambarie d’Aspromonte, where skiing is possible in winter with a stunning view of the sea, are located 28 km from the house.
The property is exclusively reserved for the guest who books it, ensuring no sharing with others. For specific requests, such as a single-use of the double room or separate rooms for two people, a small additional fee is applied. Gaetano also offers promotions for weekend stays, weekly, and monthly rentals. Each stay includes a welcome aperitif and breakfast, along with a final gift of wine and a traditional sweet treat to leave a special memory of the experience in the Strait.
