Near Capo Vaticano, just a few kilometers from the famous Tropea and surrounded by unspoiled nature, the Gullo B&B welcomes guests into a warm and authentic atmosphere. Born from the owners' desire to revive a house originally intended as a summer retreat, the B&B has become one of the historical establishments in the area, being the first to be officially registered in the municipality of Ricadi in 1995.
Run by a family that chose to return to their roots after years away, Gullo has always maintained a cozy and inviting ambiance. Over time, the establishment has evolved while staying true to its original spirit: following the pandemic, the rooms were completely renovated to provide guests with more independence, transforming them into one- and two-bedroom apartments with kitchenettes. Some accommodations boast stunning views of the Aeolian Islands or the lush inland landscape, with a spacious patio and sun terrace available for relaxation.
Comfort is also ensured by an internal parking area with automatic access and the option to stay in two external apartments located in the peaceful area of Orsigliadi, a short distance from the sea. Modern, spacious, and fully equipped, these apartments are perfect for those seeking a vacation with complete autonomy.
Although breakfast is no longer the central focus, it remains a special treat: the owner's mother still lovingly prepares donuts and tarts, which are offered to guests when possible. Starting in 2024, there will also be an e-bike rental service in partnership with local providers, ideal for exploring the area comfortably and sustainably.
The Gullo's location is perfect for discovering the Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria, with its enchanting beaches and villages rich in flavors and traditions. Just a few minutes away are Spilinga, the home of 'nduja, Limbadi with the historic Caffo distillery, and of course, Ricadi, known for its famous red onion. A stay here is a journey into the beauty and authenticity of the South.
At Gullo, breakfast isn't a formal service; rather, it's a gesture of genuine hospitality. Whenever possible, guests are treated to homemade doughnuts and tarts made by mom, following simple and authentic recipes passed down through generations. This is a subtle yet heartfelt way to make visitors feel like part of the family, providing a taste of Calabrian tradition and the warmth that has always characterized the welcome in this home.

The Gullo B&B is run with passion by a family that chose to return to their hometown after spending many years away for work. The father, a former train engineer, and the mother, a former preschool teacher, decided to convert their vacation home into a hospitality establishment, embarking on a new adventure. With the support of their children, who have since moved away for studies and jobs, they have maintained an authentic, simple, and warm welcoming style, making every guest feel at home. Thirty years after starting this journey, they continue to dedicate themselves carefully and devotedly to hospitality, updating the property and services, all while preserving the familiar atmosphere that defines them.
Capo Vaticano, overlooking the most picturesque stretch of the Calabrian Tyrrhenian coast, is a location that captivates with the clarity of its waters, steep cliffs rising from the sea, and small sandy coves washed by crystalline depths.
