Bed & Breakfast in Bagnoregio in the city center
In the timeless heart of Civita di Bagnoregio, Flaminivs welcomes guests to an elegant and refined luxury residence designed to provide an exclusive stay immersed in the history and beauty of one of Italy's most enchanting villages. The interiors span approximately 120 square meters and showcase a sophisticated balance between contemporary comfort and vintage charm, thanks to a careful selection of furnishings and unique items, each with its own story.
On the lower level, a bright living area unfolds, featuring a lounge, dining space, and a fully equipped kitchen ideal for preparing and sharing convivial moments in an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. Amenities such as a refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, gas stove, kettle, toaster, and Nespresso coffee machine allow guests to fully enjoy the experience of a private home in the village. An ancient fireplace adds original charm to the space; however, to preserve the historic beams and wooden floors, lighting a fire is not permitted, while central heating ensures comfort during the winter months.
A striking spiral staircase made of wrought iron leads to the upper floor, where the spacious bedroom and en suite bathroom are located. Rest is assured by an exclusive king-size bed, handcrafted from an antique billiard table and adorned with high-quality linens. The environment invites tranquility and contemplation, offering moments for reading in vintage armchairs or being inspired while writing at the historic 19th-century desk. The private bathroom, equipped with a whirlpool tub, bathrobes, hairdryer, and garment steamer, provides a dedicated space for wellness and relaxation.
Guests have access to complimentary Wi-Fi, and upon waking, a gourmet basket featuring an Italian breakfast is provided, to be enjoyed freely in the home’s various spaces.
Flaminivs is named after the ancient engraved lintel “Flaminivs Ciani,” dating back to the Lombard period, serving as an authentic testament to the village's millennia-old history. Founded during the Etruscan era and dramatically perched above the Valle dei Calanchi, Civita di Bagnoregio appears as a stone island that has remained intact over time. Accessible only via a picturesque footbridge, the village greets visitors with a tapestry of medieval alleys, tranquil squares, and breathtaking views, where the rhythm of life still follows the seasons.
As one strolls along the cobbled streets, they encounter the Porta Santa Maria, the ancient entrance to the village, Piazza San Donato with its church built atop a pagan temple, and glimpses that recount over two thousand five hundred years of history. Today, Civita retains a rare atmosphere, inhabited by a few residents and travelers from around the world drawn to its authenticity.
The central location makes the residence an ideal starting point for exploring central Italy: Orvieto with its magnificent cathedral, Lake Bolsena, Viterbo, Pitigliano, and the villages of Tuscia are easily accessible, as are Rome, Florence, and the hills of Tuscany for unforgettable day trips.
Flaminivs stems from the owners' passion for travel and their love for Civita di Bagnoregio, a place discovered and cherished enough to transform into a home for sharing. Here, every detail encourages guests to slow down, observe, and experience authenticity amid art, history, and silence, allowing themselves to be captivated by the unique essence of this village suspended in the sky.

Area city center
Civita di Bagnoregio is a one-of-a-kind place in the world, a village frozen in time that evokes strong emotions from the very first glance. Perched on a tuff cliff and surrounded by the enchanting Valley of the Calanchi, it appears as a stone island suspended in the sky, linked to the mainland by a long scenic pedestrian bridge leading to the ancient Porta Santa Maria, the historical entrance to the town.
Founded over two thousand five hundred years ago by the Etruscans, Civita still retains a genuine and ethereal atmosphere today. Strolling through medieval alleys, stone arches, and quiet little squares gives one the feeling of stepping into a living museum where history, nature, and traditions coexist harmoniously. Piazza San Donato serves as the heart of the village, dominated by the church of the same name built upon ancient Roman ruins, while every street invites exploration of scenic views, hidden gardens, and charming corners.
Known as “the dying town” due to the fragile landscape surrounding it, Civita is now one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, offering a rare experience characterized by tranquility, starry skies, and slow rhythms, far removed from mass tourism. Here, time seems to slow down, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the magic of the place.
Its strategic location in the heart of the Tuscia region makes Civita di Bagnoregio an ideal base for exploring central Italy. Nearby are Orvieto with its remarkable cathedral, Lake Bolsena with its volcanic landscapes, Viterbo with its well-preserved medieval center, as well as the picturesque villages of Pitigliano, Montefiascone, and Tarquinia. In a short time, one can also reach Rome, Florence, and the hills of Tuscany, alternating between cultural days, culinary tours, and stunning natural scenery.
Staying in Civita means experiencing a deeply emotional journey filled with silence, golden light, and endless vistas, in one of the most evocative and iconic places in Italy.
