It adheres to the Staranzano Slow project for the enhancement of the Isonzo River Mouth Nature Reserve and the surrounding lagoon areas. Gradisca d'Isonzo is one of the first starry fortresses in Europe, commissioned by the Venetians to counter the Turkish invasions in Friuli. Most of the walls and six towers remain of the original fortress. Its beautiful Baroque architecture was born in the period of maximum glory of Gradisca when the city was the capital of a small principality under the Eggenberg dynasty, from which the B&B took its name. Gradisca is strategically located between the Collio, world famous for its prestigious wines, the Carso, with its typical vegetation and its natural caves and the green Slovenia.
Near Gradisca, on Mount San Michele, important battles were fought during the First World War and the scene of the clashes is mapped and can be visited. The city is crossed by the beautiful river Isonzo. From Gradisca you can leave for excursions on foot and by bicycle. It is in fact crossed by the Alpe Adria Trail, the CAI Italia Path, the Alpenüberquerung Salzburg-Triest, the Aida Cycle Path and the Isonzo Cycle Path.
The motorway exit is two kilometers from the city, the railway station is two kilometers and the bus station is 500 meters away. from the B&B.
