Secret Bassano: Discovering the Little Church of San Giorgio alle Acque

Thanks to the dedication of a group of volunteers, the church will be open to visitors every Sunday from May to September in 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to admire medieval frescoes dating back to the early 14th century and learn about the fascinating history that connects this site to the monastery founded by Ponce de Cluny, to Frederick II, and to the medieval leader Ezzelino III da Romano.

The visit is also a wonderful opportunity to explore one of the areas most loved by the people of Bassano for walking and enjoying nature. From the historic centre, the church can be reached via pleasant scenic paths that cross the town and run alongside the Brenta River.
