Cascina Prato is a charming farmhouse located in Alta Langa, a few steps away from the beautiful village of Cravanzana, known as "the hazelnut town". Our farmhouse is located near the intersection called "la Crociera", always a crossing point between the Belbo and Bormida valleys. The farmhouse, owned by our family since the beginning of the 1900s, was built in 1808.
The farmhouse offers typical hospitality of the area, with a restaurant service that serves delicious local dishes. It also has a cozy common room, a large garden, and a terrace, ideal for those who want to spend a peaceful holiday surrounded by nature.
We are located on two of the most beautiful and popular excursions in Alta Langa: the Great Traverse of the Langhe and the Hazelnut Ring, a suggestive route of about 8 kilometers through hazelnut groves and woods. We will provide you with maps of the area and detailed descriptions of these and many other routes, perfect for mountain bike enthusiasts as well. The Great Traverse of the Langhe, in particular, has recently been updated and equipped with numerous charging stations for e-bikes.
Cascina Prato is located a short distance from Alba and Canelli, declared World Heritage Sites by Unesco, and many other places of great cultural interest, such as those described in the works of Fenoglio and Pavesi.
We have five rooms, completely renovated in 2019, all equipped with a double bed, en suite bathroom with shower (including hairdryer and courtesy set), minibar, TV, and equipped to accommodate children as well. All rooms have a balcony or terrace.
In the morning, you will be treated to a delicious buffet breakfast with high-quality local produce for a rich and genuine morning meal. You can enjoy our homemade jams made with seasonal fruit, premium cheeses, and cured meats from the agricultural companies of Alta Langa. There are also baked goods such as pies, cookies, and hazelnut cakes, made with our famous Piemonte IGP hazelnuts. Let yourself be won over by the authentic flavors of our land!

We are true hiking enthusiasts and we were lucky enough to find our house right in front of two of the most beautiful and popular hiking trails in Alta Langa: the Great Langhe Traverse (GTL) and the Hazelnut Ring, an 8-kilometer loop through hazelnut orchards and woods, with breathtaking views.
Starting directly from Cascina Prato, you can tackle these two trails with a backpack. We will provide you with detailed descriptions of the routes, maps of the area, and a snack to make the most of your experience.
Of course, if you are mountain bike fans, you can challenge these routes by pedaling. In particular, we recommend trying the Great Langhe Traverse, which has recently been updated and equipped with numerous charging stations for e-bikes. You will cover many kilometers without too much effort.. it's a real breeze!
For those who prefer a more relaxed route, there are paved roads that run along the ridges of Alta Langa. We recommend the Cravanzana-Mombarcaro itinerary, or for those willing to tackle a slightly more challenging route, the Cravanzana-San Benedetto-Mombarcaro loop. The latter is the highest village in Alta Langa and offers a splendid panorama. They say that on the clearest days, you can even see the sea!
You can leave your bikes in our large company storeroom and use the equipment for small repairs to fully enjoy your cycling experience.
