The building is located in an area called "Torpignattara", just 30 minutes from Piazza di Spagna. This name comes from the popular designation of the Mausoleum of Helena, built by her son, Emperor Constantine I, between 326 and 330 AD. The mausoleum is located within an area formerly called "Ad duas Lauros", which also includes the buried remains of a basilica adjacent to the mausoleum and, underground, the catacombs of Saints Marcellinus and Peter.
On the upper part of the partially collapsed drum structure, one can see vases used to lighten the construction. Popular imagination invented the term "tower of pots" to describe the monument and the surrounding area. Over time, this term has transformed into "Torpignattara".
Today, this densely populated area is rich in services and shops and is well connected to the city center. There is a McDonald's just 150 meters away and various shopping centers within walking distance. There are also trendy bars in the immediate vicinity. Additionally, the Hospital of the Daughters of St. Camillus is very close by. This area is a melting pot of nationalities and cultures, an example of integration.
