My name is Eleonora, and I have a strong passion for traveling and exploring different places and cultures.
I decided to embark on this journey as a host, allowing travelers to visit me even when I'm unable to travel myself.
Cit Turin is the smallest neighborhood in Turin, but it possesses a strong and distinctive identity, starting with its name, which is entirely in Piedmontese and translates to "Little Turin." Strolling through its streets, one can sense an elegant and refined atmosphere, where the Art Nouveau style prevails with its timeless beauty. This is the perfect place to be enchanted by unique architectural details and immerse oneself in a part of the city that retains its charm.
One of the most representative symbols is the magnificent Casa Fenoglio-Lafleur, designed in 1902 by architect Pietro Fenoglio, regarded as one of the masterpieces of Italian Art Nouveau. The floral decorations, the sinuous wrought iron railings, and the colorful stained glass make this building a true gem to admire.
Continuing along Via Principi d’Acaja and turning onto Via Duchessa Jolanda, you reach the vibrant heart of the neighborhood: Piazza Benefica, whose actual name is Giardini Martini. The locals still refer to it by its nickname, which originated from a charitable institution that used to be located here. Every morning, the square comes alive with the famous “bene” market of the city, also known as the “market of signatures,” where one can find quality items and exclusive deals.
Cit Turin is also a strategically located neighborhood for getting around, thanks to its proximity to Porta Susa station and the metro. Here, historic shops, restaurants, and cafés with an authentic atmosphere alternate, making it perfect for a break between strolls. It's a small world of its own, where Turin's tradition meets the elegance and dynamism of the city.
