Promoted by the Municipality of Milan - Culture, produced by Palazzo Reale, the Musée d’Orsay, the Musée de l’Orangerie, and Skira Arte, the exhibition is curated by Cécile Girardeau, curator at the Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris, and Stefano Zuffi, art historian, with the collaboration of Alice Marsal, responsible for archives and documentation at the Musée de l’Orangerie.
Fifty-two masterpieces are on display, offering a comprehensive overview of the work of the two artists, from their early canvases of the 1870s to their more mature works of the early 20th century, brought together by the art dealer Paul Guillaume (1891-1934). All artworks are preserved at the prestigious venue of the Musée de L’Orangerie in Paris, alongside a selection of works by the two masters from the Musée d’Orsay in Paris and two paintings by Pablo Picasso.
