Via Lincoln known as Via degli Orti during the period of the Kingdom of Sicily delimits the border of the historic center, and some Palermo monuments overlook it. The road was chosen in the past by the great noble families of Palermo for the construction of luxurious palaces, among the most famous is Palazzo Jung, built by the homonymous family of wealthy entrepreneurs. Unlike the other main city streets, the street is surrounded by the largest complex of public gardens in the city. In the path on one side of the street, beyond the walls you can see the large fronds of the Ficus of the botanical garden of Palermo, which has its main entrance right on this street. Then, just before the end of the road, you cross one of the three openings of the aristocratic and labyrinthine Villa Giulia completed in 1777. The villa borders the botanical garden, and continues the strip of greenery that runs along one side of the road. Behind the axis, behind the buildings facing it, are some of the most important churches in Palermo: La Magione, the church of Spasimo and the baroque Santa Teresa alla Kalsa.
