Lake Ledro, located between Lake Garda and Lake Idro, is one of the cleanest and most natural lakes in Trentino. Its clear waters reflect the green hues of the surrounding meadows and forests. The first inhabitants of the valley were the people of the pile dwellings. In Lake Ledro, a Bronze Age pile-dwelling village was discovered, containing over 10, 000 piles, ceramics, bronze, stone, bone, and wooden artifacts. In 1929, the remains were unearthed and now the Palafitte Museum is located on the site of the excavations.
There are many leisure activities available. The natural environment is perfect for water sports such as sailing, surfing, canoeing, catamaran, and pedalo. It's also possible to take pleasant walks around the lake in total tranquility and safety. The nearby mountains offer a vast network of trails with varying difficulty levels. The more demanding hikers can even go on high-altitude excursions. Of course, there are also many mountain bike paths offering exciting itineraries.
