In 1892, the Tuscany region was still primarily dedicated to agriculture and the lands belonged to noble families. That year, the Podestà of Poggibonsi decided to build on his lands a grain depot, a cellar for wine production and aging, and a place to mature the grapes used to create a nectar called Vinsanto. The Ancient Estate Il Bugnolo is a period residence built with materials found in the countryside: a porous stone formed by the sedimentation of marine fossils, a roof made of handmade terracotta tiles, oak beams, and splendid vaults in the ceiling that, with their simplicity, make your stay unique and unforgettable. My name is Simone and, together with my peasant origin parents, we decided to return to country life in 1970 by purchasing this property from a fallen noble. Following our passion for simple and artisanal things, we started producing the famous Tuscan wine until the late 90s. In 2001, we restored the building, respecting its ancient origins, and transformed the cellars into rooms and apartments for your stay. It will be a privilege to host you in a part of my home. The rooms and common areas are meticulously cared for, as we have been living here for over 40 years.
