The Medieval Residence "L'Incontro" (dating back to 1200 AD) is nestled among other buildings that represent the historic core of the city of Viterbo, in the medieval district of San Pellegrino. A visit to this place is a true journey into medieval history, as it is a unique structure in its kind.
It consists of two adjacent buildings, one of which is definitely an ancient tower separated and incorporates a road that originally connected the two medieval neighborhoods of San Pellegrino and Pianoscarano.
Inside, it is still possible to admire today the arches of the road and some windows on the sides of the two joined buildings.
The stairs of the road lead to two huge cellars hand-carved in tuff stone, connected by a tunnel. In one of these, you can observe the medieval "buttery" and the wine cellars, used until recent times.

Our ancient family tower house is the last tower house of San Pellegrino, built in 1200, and has also been the setting for some medieval-themed films.
Initially, we decided to move from Rome to enjoy the beauties of the charming medieval historic center of Viterbo and get away from the chaos of the big city. Over time, we then made the decision to transform our home into an authentic experience of the past for all tourists who want to discover this wonderful city. We have opened the doors of our home to guests from all over the world.
Our rooms are furnished in Renaissance style and offer all modern comforts, including air conditioning, but still retain the charm of the past.
On the ground floor, you can admire the exposed stone walls, the stable with the manger and the hitching post, which reflect the atmosphere of a real medieval house.
Furthermore, we offer the opportunity to visit an ancient alleyway, a road incorporated into the underground, and the hand-dug cellars in tuff stone, free of charge.
Come and visit us and enjoy a relaxing stay immersed in the art and culture of Viterbo.
Viterbo is located in the center of the province, at the foot of the Cimini mountains, near Lake Vico and Lake Bolsena. Surrounded by sturdy walls, where several gates open, connecting the historic center in typical medieval style (San Pellegrino district, where the house is located) with the more recent urban development.
Just outside the city center, there are two famous thermal baths with monumental thermal pools used by the Popes (discounted tickets for entry and treatments at the baths can be found at the B&B), the free thermal spring of Bullicame, and several scattered pools in the surrounding area.
Just outside the city, there is the necropolis of Castel d'Asso and, only nine kilometers away, the ruins of the marvelous Ferento. Therefore, Viterbo represents the ideal place to study and live. You could go visit Civita di Bagnoregio, the sacred forest of Bomarzo, the historic gardens of Villa Lante in Bagnaia, the Etruscan sites of Tuscania and Tarquinia, and many other places.
