In the seventeenth century, the central nucleus of the house was a small convent inhabited by a community of monks, devoted to a simple and rural way of life. This is demonstrated by the "Santa Rosalia" spring, located in the most sloping part of the bottom, which had the function of irrigating the garden and watering the livestock. After the community of monks died out, it was taken over by a group of soldiers who transformed it into a garrison, as evidenced by the sentry box at the entrance. Towards the end of the 19th century, the entire property passed into the hands of a noble Nicosian family who used it until the 1960s as a hunting estate and summer residence. Meticulously restored by the current owners, it retains in every stone all the peculiarities of an agricultural, fortified and noble residence.
Single (double bed for single use), double, triple and quadruple rooms are available with accessibility for the differently-abled. "Alcove" rooms, former dwellings of the monks, whose walls are frescoed with nineteenth-century paintings, are also at your disposal. The furniture, Sicilian of the early 1900s, simple, sober but at the same time carefully designed in every detail, will make your overnight stay even more welcoming and unique.
