Angolo di Paradiso

Bed & Breakfast in Grizzana Morandi in the hills

The "Angolo di Paradiso" B&B is a charming farmhouse nestled in the tranquility of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, designed for those who wish to indulge in a true retreat amidst nature, silence, and timeless atmospheres. Constructed from local Montovolo stone and rooted in a long artisan tradition, the house retains an authentic and sophisticated character, with each room telling a piece of history. At the heart of the establishment is the spacious Renaissance-style salon, enhanced by a restored fresco from the early twentieth century and a tuned piano available for guests during their stay. The guest rooms are located on the first floor and are thoughtfully decorated in various styles, featuring antique furniture, crafted woods, and decorative details that evoke the elegance of the late nineteenth century. Outside, the setting is that of a genuine green oasis: a large, private area encompassing acres of woodland, ancient chestnut trees, and the picturesque site of an old quarry that was closed in the 1970s. Both indoor and outdoor spaces are also suitable for private gatherings and organized events, such as parties, anniversaries, ceremonies, or meetings, thanks to the truly scenic natural backdrop.

Area hills

"Angolo di Paradiso" is situated in one of the most picturesque areas of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, at the foot of Montovolo, a peak that overlooks the valley with its expansive views and lush nature. The environment here retains a rare authenticity, featuring vast forests, serene trails, and an immediate sense of tranquility, making it an ideal retreat for those seeking to escape the noise and recharge their energy. The region is also particularly intriguing from a historical perspective. Montovolo is connected to the tradition of sandstone quarries, which for centuries have been a significant economic resource for the area. The stone processing has fostered a craftsmanship passed down through generations, involving stonemasons, stonecutters, and specialized artisans who skillfully transformed local materials into valuable architectural elements. In the surrounding area, fascinating remnants of this history can still be found, including small iron carts and the remains of the cable car that once linked the quarries to the village, utilizing an ingenious gravity system. These details enhance the landscape, making it even more evocative and enriching the experience for those who appreciate discovering places with a strong and unique identity. Amidst nature, memory, and tranquility, this region is perfect for forest walks, scenic routes, and moments of reflection, offering the sensation of being in a secluded and authentic corner of Emilia, where time truly slows down.
