The establishment is named after the ancient Alba street, located in the vibrant heart of Cuneo's historic center, just 200 meters from Piazza Galimberti. This street is in a restricted traffic zone (ZTL) that is active only during nighttime hours, while access is easy during the day. Additionally, there are spacious parking options, both free and paid until 7 PM, just 50 meters from the apartment.
Situated on the second and top floor of a building dating back to the 17th century, the apartment underwent a complete renovation and furnishing in 2023. Its layout features a cozy living room with a kitchenette, a small hallway leading to a bathroom equipped with a spacious shower, as well as a bedroom. A long balcony overlooks Alba street, providing a picturesque view.
The bedroom contains a double bed, while the living room features a sofa that converts into a French bed. Guests will find sheets, towels (both small and large), and a bathroom/shower courtesy kit provided for their convenience.
In the living room, in addition to a TV, guests will have access to a library with a selection of books, magazines, board games, and information on ongoing events in Cuneo.
The host is always available to assist guests with valuable advice on tourist itineraries, culinary experiences, sports activities, and recommendations for the best restaurants and venues in the city.
After enjoying delicious local dishes and drinks, for those looking to immerse themselves in the culture, I highly recommend a visit to the Civic Museum of Cuneo. This intriguing museum is located in the former Church of San Francesco, a stunning example of late Gothic Piedmontese architecture situated in Piazza Virginio, just a short walk from Via Alba. Inside, you will find the civic collections organized into five sections: prehistory, Roman history, early Middle Ages, medieval period, sacred art, and ethnography.
To honor Cuneo's deep historical ties, which earned it the title of Gold Medal City for Military Valor in 1947, I also suggest visiting the Galimberti House Museum. This site preserves the memory of the Resistance years, paying tribute to the sacrifices of its citizens.
Cuneo is also a city with a strong sporting spirit. Specifically, in the world of cycling, the Cuneo-Pinerolo stage of the 1949 Giro d'Italia gained international acclaim, being voted in 2012 by a panel of 100 journalists as the most beautiful stage ever of a cycling race. I won't go into detail about the numerous cycling routes, all of which have been used in the stages of the Giro and the Tour de France; I'm sure you'll have plenty of options to choose from. There are also off-road trails available for mountain biking.
For winter sports enthusiasts, there are several ski resorts located less than 30 km from Cuneo, suitable for both alpine and cross-country skiing. Finally, for runners, the River Park, just a few hundred meters from the apartment, features a dirt track that encircles the entire city, totaling over 25 km in length.
