Torrevecchia Agriturismo was created through the meticulous restoration of an ancient farmhouse dating back to the 1300s, located next to a Byzantine crypt, and is a key player in a multifunctional reality composed of the current farm characterized by the breeding of cattle, sheep, and goats, and the adjacent farm with an olive oil mill. Overlooking the old "courtyard," the former rooms once used for the daily life of the "peasants" have been transformed into comfortable rooms furnished with elegant furniture from the 1900s. Close to the ancient structure, immersed in the large park, you will find the new and refined rooms. The awakening will be sweet, surrounded by the scent of fresh cow's milk and the genuine tastes of the land that will delight you with the tasty cheeses from the farm, the vegetables from the company's garden, the "durum wheat" bread enriched with extra virgin olive oil produced on-site, and the fresh eggs from our free-range chickens. Time passes by relaxing by the pool, taking long walks through the vineyards and olive groves, exploring the surroundings by bike, and visiting Lecce, Ostuni, Otranto, and the beautiful beaches of Punta Prosciutto, Torre Lapillo, and Porto Selvaggio.
The buffet breakfast, entirely prepared with farm products, will allow you to savor the flavors of the past, in full respect of the traditions of Salento, for an authentic and healthy awakening.
You can delight in a variety of homemade jams: from the delicious quince jam, typical of Lecce, to the tasty grape mustard, to the fresh lemon marmalade. These treats can be spread on a slice of warm bread, baked in a stone oven. Additionally, you will find cookies prepared according to a recipe passed down through generations, accompanied by classic tarts and doughnuts, to be enjoyed with a delicious cappuccino made with fresh milk from our cows.
You will have the opportunity to taste the flagship products of the farm: cheeses, fruits directly harvested from our orchard located near the rooms, and vegetables from the garden. But above all, you won't be able to resist the rich and genuine taste of freshly milked milk, ricotta, and yogurt, true treasures of our region.
Welcome! Our aim is to make you feel like newly arrived friends and leave as departing friends. We are a warm family that welcomes guests with affection, making them feel at home as if they were among old friends. Surrounded by large cattle farms, goats and farm animals, vineyards, olive groves, vegetable gardens, orchards, and a wonderful flower greenhouse, Torrevecchia (named after its location) is rooted in love for the land and authentic things. Here, we appreciate the imperfection of form and the goodness of flavors, respecting the rhythms of nature.
In the morning, we take care of our guests by delighting them with the typical tastes of Salento. During a pleasant conversation, we share advice on what to visit, traditional recipes, and local customs before starting a long and relaxing day of exploring the area. Day after day, we strive to convey the serenity and joy that simple and laborious rural life gives us. We pamper our guests, hoping they will return soon, just like a dear old friend would.
Thanks to its strategic location in the heart of the provinces of Brindisi, Lecce, and Taranto, Torrevecchia farmhouse represents an ideal starting point to explore all of Salento and beyond. The beauty of our region can be discovered through a naturalistic itinerary, which includes the Monks' Reserve, Torre Guaceto, Porto Cesareo, and the Castellana caves, or through a food and wine route, visiting renowned wineries and tasting typical Salento products directly at our company. Moreover, you can immerse yourself in culture and art by visiting Otranto, the baroque city of Lecce, and Galatina. For the little ones, there are numerous amusement parks, and in just a few hours by car, you can reach the enchanting city of Matera.
