Vast spaces, enchanting forests, unspoiled nature, organic farming, environmental protection, culinary culture, and adventure. These are the reasons that led the famous English newspaper "The Guardian" to select the Val di Vara Biodistrict (together with the Il Filo di Paglia Agriturismo) as one of the top 20 eco-friendly tourist destinations to visit in 2020.
The Azaghi family welcomes you to a beautiful farmhouse, one of the best ways to experience Italian cuisine and the authentic life of the Italian countryside and old villages.
The rooms and suites are located in a straw house and an ancient villa. All facilities have authentic floors, antique furniture, private bathrooms, and access to terraces and/or green spaces.
The restaurant's cuisine is based on natural farm products: vegetables, honey, fruit, yogurt, cheeses, and Cabannine beef, all of the highest quality with Slow Food certification. You can enjoy a bottle of natural wine chosen from the extensive wine list. A wellness professional will be at your disposal for massages and rebalancing treatments.
The royal breakfast at "Filo di Paglia" is an unforgettable experience that begins on our terrace with a panoramic view of the beautiful Valley. In a magical and energizing atmosphere, you can enjoy a selection of delicacies prepared with organic and fresh ingredients.
Every morning, we offer you a variety of hot beverages, including coffee, tea, and herbal teas, accompanied by fresh cow's milk or plant-based milks. Our homemade fresh bread, made with biodynamic ancient grain flour and sourdough, pairs perfectly with fresh organic butter and jams made with organic farm fruits.
You can also delight in organic fruit juices, the homemade cake of the day, organic yogurt, cereals, and fresh fruit to start the day with energy and good mood.
At "Filo di Paglia," breakfast is not just a meal but a true ritual of well-being that allows you to connect with nature and the authenticity of genuine flavors. Come and experience this unique experience and let yourself be pampered by our products made with love and passion.
One of the main strengths of the Agriturismo is its restaurant.
Our chef, with his extensive thirty-year experience, has always been attentive to the highest quality of raw materials. Now, he has the opportunity to work directly with the products, carefully taking care of them at every stage of the process.
Thanks to this attention, the vegetables come directly from our natural farm, the cheeses are unique, made with raw milk and native yeasts, and the fresh meats and cured meats come from Cabannine cows, raised freely on pasture, a species protected by the Slow Food presidium.
All these ingredients, thanks also to slow wood-fired cooking, transform into a dinner with authentic and forgotten flavors, linked to the Ligurian tradition, but with that touch of curiosity and audacity that make each dish unique.
In addition, we offer a wide selection of natural wines that will make your dinner even more special, an unmissable appointment not to be missed.

The Azaghi family has been in the restaurant industry for 35 years. Before selling their seafood restaurant in front of Portofino, they decided to build an eco-friendly straw house in the middle of the forest, in the Valle del Vara, near the Cinque Terre. The staff is entirely composed of the family members themselves: chef Marco, assistant cook Paolo, sommelier/waitress Francesca, and cheese producer and naturopath Simone.
The farmhouse is located in the heart of the woods, just 20 minutes away from the Carrodano highway exit. The road to get there is winding but paved. You can stroll along the trails of the Vara Valley, discovering a wild nature and the peaks of the Ligurian Mountains of the Autostrada. The Vara Valley is famous for its ancient villages, organic food, and farms. Varese Ligure is the first organic village in Europe. This valley is located right behind the Cinque Terre National Park, so the location is perfect for visiting these famous fishing villages, the Ligurian coast and beaches, but also northern Tuscany and the province of Parma.
