The agriturismo Casteddu is located in a charming forest of majestic holm oaks and ancient oaks in Padru, and is one of the oldest and most traditional rural residences in this area. It is only 15 minutes away from San Teodoro and the beautiful coast, and only 20 minutes from Olbia. The spaces of the agriturismo have been cleverly created from the existing buildings of the ancient stazzo Casteddu, with the warehouses transformed into cozy dining areas and guest rooms. All renovations have been carried out in accordance with the typical traditional architecture, preserving its authentic charm.
In our cozy establishment in Casteddu, we extend a warm welcome to you for breakfast. You can enjoy delicious homemade products such as freshly baked bread, tasty homemade jams, and a variety of natural products. Our garden is the perfect place to start the day with a rejuvenating breakfast.
At Agriturismo Casteddu, we don't have a fixed menu, but we can say that we have included a considerable variety of dishes that refer to the seasons and their products, revolving around some dishes that have made history in traditional Sardinian cuisine. In fact, in addition to the cold cuts, Sardinian gnocchetti, ricotta and mint ravioli, Gallurese soup, culurgiones, and the ever-present roast suckling pig that have a permanent place on our menu, you can also enjoy wild boar with olives or sweet and sour, chicken livers stewed.
Furthermore, we offer breaded and fried seasonal vegetables, grilled vegetables, fresh fava beans with bacon and mint, artichokes, wild asparagus, which can be used to prepare excellent omelettes and creams to accompany filled pastas, cow's milk and sheep's milk cheeses, fresh and salted ricotta.
And then there are the mushrooms from our forest that enter our menu in autumn, delighting many food lovers who come to Casteddu to taste chanterelle or porcini mushroom salads, fried, grilled or sautéed porcini mushrooms, polenta with sausages and mushrooms, fresh tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, in short, mushrooms in every way.
To conclude the meal, of course, the Seada cannot be missing, a dessert with ancient origins that combines the sweetness of honey and the salty taste of fresh cheese enclosed in a pastry dough.
All this can be accompanied by a good Sardinian red wine.
In 1958, I first saw the light in the ancient farmhouse of Casteddu, a place that dates back to the early 1800s and has always captured my heart. Here, I have always carried out my work with passion, immersed in this wonderful setting.
After breathing new life into the old stables, in 1986 I had the enthusiasm to inaugurate our farmhouse, which prides itself on being the first in this area. Now, together with my family and our precious team, we dedicate ourselves with attention and care to our guests, trying to make them feel at home.
